What is student government?

The University of South Florida St. Petersburg Student Government represents the interests of the student body including coordinating activities through allocations and expenditures of Activities and Service Fees Funds. By discussing issues, concerns and ideas to help better our campus community, Student Government is the voice of the student body.

How do I find out who my senators are?

Visit the Senate Roster section under the Legislative Branch of the website. There you will be able to locate the senators who represent your particular college and their information.

How does SG help student organizations?

SG helps student organizations immensely through the providing of funding and resources. There are many resources available to student organizations who want to be more involved on campus. The best place to turn is your college senator.

How do I get funding from SG?

Funding from SG is mainly used for student organizations and various SG sponsored activities. If you are a student organization and have completed the necessary steps to become a full active organization on campus, you can apply for funding using the “Budget Request Form” which can be found under Resources on the SG website. Be sure to complete the entire form and submit it to the Department of Student Life & Engagement Info desk so that it can be time stamped and directed to the SG Treasurer. If you need funding from SG for a particular event, please contact college senator who can assist you in the evaluation process.

Where does SG get their funding?

Student Government funding is generated from the Activity and Service Fee every student is required to pay after registering for classes. This fee is a set amount that is charged per credit hour you take at the USF St. Petersburg Campus. These fees are used to give funding to the various SG facilitated services and student organizations.
